Companies Reward Weight Loss

Apparently more and more companies are implementing programs to help employees lose weight. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), obesity costs American companies $56 billion in lost productivity caused by disability, illness and death. That’s a lot of money!

Companies such as Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Financial One have created programs that encourage employees to lose weight through rewards such as cash bonuses, paid vacations time and even an all-expenses-paid vacation! If incentives such as these don’t make you want to lose weight than nothing will.

I think more companies should implement corporate wellness programs. Employees that are healthy will take less sick days and come to work with a greater focus and more energy. The happier the employee, the more productive the company.
