Good news, Coke and Diet Coke fans!
According to recent reports, Coca-Cola will soon be unveiling 90-calorie mini-cans of soda to help consumers manage their calorie intake. The smaller packages - to be sold in packages of eight - will be available for the Coca-Cola (including Diet Coke), Sprite, Fanta Orange, Cherry Coca-Cola and Barq's Root Beer brands. Apparently the mini-cans will debut in New York and Washington D.C. in December with a nationwide roll-out "well under way" by March, the company said. The announcement comes in the wake of increasingly vocal calls for national taxes on sugary drinks and junk food to help fight the problem of obesity in the United States. Although I'm a diet soda drinker, I think this is great news for all pop fans. Hopefully some of the other soda companies will follow suit.
