After a long work week, I told myself that I would come home tonight and chill for a change, rather than going out and being social. Visions of a quiet TV night - decked out in sweats and holding a giant glass of red wine - danced in my head. For the most part, I've done just that. YAY! But instead of that glass of wine I promised myself, I went for a cocktail: raspberry-flavored vodka, peach-flavored Fresca and a splash of mango juice. Trust...it's fabulous, especially on a humid night!
By the way, if you're counting calories, diet sodas make terrific cocktail mixers. Ditch the beer, especially if it's high gravity, and grab a vodka and Sprite Zero or rum and Diet Coke. Seltzer and club soda are also good, but tonic has almost as many calories as regular soda. Here are a few other low-cal drink recipe ideas. They should definitely come in handy now that swimsuit season is upon us. Gulp.
